  1. The Julia Margret Cameron Award is an international award given once a year to out standing women photographers, The grant money is handled by a third party much the way the Mary Nohl is. The awards and gallery show will be in Argentina in August of 2011. Awarded images were juried by the photographers Mary Ellen Mark, Vanessa Winship and Kim Weston; Magnum Photos’ members Alessandra Sanguinetti and Olivia Arthur; Zoom’s Editor in Chief Rosanna Checchi, and the Curator of the San Diego Museum of Photography Carol McCusker. The overall winners will be featured in ZOOM Magazine. proceeds from the gallery show will benefit save the children. All awardees will also be featured in the Julia Margret Cameron award book. Julia Margret Cameron was considered the mother of modern photography. Her work is extraordinary although short lived, even in the seventeen and eighteen hundreds making a living at photography was difficult.
